The Battlequeen Emmeris returned to Eirelantra station on year 3610, month 9, day 23, docking at precisely 17:34:21 GalStandard hours in elite bay 12. We were told that the station was under a temporary lockdown, due to a slight technical issue. I immediately contacted my superiors who informed me that the matter was under the highest classification, but that there had been an upsetting incident at the High Council meeting. I would be apprised of the official story as soon as possible.
At this time, Captain Noviik protested that she had an urgent message for the Archon. As the ship was operating under special license, it was determined to allow us to disembark.
No sooner had the hatch opened than two hostile operatives, one of them carrying a handgun of unfamiliar design, confronted us. The armed male grabbed Captain Noviik and forced us back into the ship under threat of her life.
The female looked tired and wounded – her right hand seemed to dangle uselessly – however, there was something about her manner that warned me she was the more dangerous of the pair.
The male demanded that the ship prepare for departure. Captain Noviik protested that the ship had not restocked, at which the male demanded our potential range at current supply levels. The crew member Ireeeni Betris reported that interstellar travel was not practical.
“Just take me to Eden,” said the female. “There’s a supply of nul-energy I can potentially tap into.”
Significant glances were exchanged, by which I determined that the K’ntasari members of the delegation had reached the same conclusion that I had – the woman in question had to be some species of Cu’endhari.
The answers I was seeking came in a quick communique from Lieutenant Graysal. The matter had escalated into a top priority. A quick kill was no longer an option. The female, Lilith, had to be restrained; the male, although deemed expendable by my betters, should be preserved, if possible, for interrogation. He did not devise this plan single-handedly. That gun and the nullets within were the result of targeted, expensive and advanced research. All wormhole paths led to CenGov.
In honesty, it was the most difficult situation of my career. Lilith was the daughter of God, and yet she was an enemy target.
At approximately 17:48, the Battlequeen Emmeris disengaged from the station. Shortly thereafter, Captain Noviik’s datapad began to chime. At first, our adversaries instructed us to ignore it. After the disturbance continued repeatedly, Lilith snatched the datapad with her left hand from its clip at the Captain’s waist. She proclaimed her intent to examine the communication. A few seconds later, her facial expression changed radically. She turned and rushed the male assailant, Esau St. John.
St. John reacted quickly, shooting her with the nul-gun. Lilith collapsed upon the deck.
