Biography:
Emanated in 3609, Constantine first appears in Eden Blues to deal with the General Panic droid. His original motivation was to get revenge for what she had done to his brother, Ross. Driscoll makes a portrait of Constantine carved in wood as part of his series, “What Prometheus Gave.” It causes Cu’enmerengi protestors to riot. Driscoll reveals to the Cantor that he was intentionally provocative to convince General Panic that Ashtara was not paying attention to her military incursion. Driscoll eventually wins the Duchamp Prize for the series.
Constantine addresses CHMR (The Church of the Holy Martyred Ross) declaring his intent for vengeance. It’s another feint – intended to make Panic feel overconfident. The remainder of the story is told by Constantine in his testimony to the SongLuminants. Distracted by Constantine’s sincere fury, she falls into a trap laid by Cillian on Dumati. The pair duel, Constantine defeating several expected copies of the Panic droid before being critically injured. However, Panic is captured, unable to escape. At that moment, Constantine realizes that the duel was also Panic’s distraction from an assassination attempt on Tara, and he transforms into the mothman, using the power grid to return to Dolparessa.
Constantine occasionally provides commentary, but does nothing of significance in The Poison Garden or The Perpetual Rose. In PR, Tara refers to Constantine’s juice as “almost flavorless.”
